Pilau Rice

Easy to make but very nice, a SpiceTheWorld special

2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
5 cloves whole
2 Bayleaf
1 small Cinnamon Stick
5 pods Green Cardamoms
1 medium onion sliced
500gm Basmati Rice washed
1 litre water
Salt to taste
Heat the oil in a pan.
Now add the cumin seeds cloves Bayleaf cinnamon and green cardamom.
When they crackle add the sliced onion and sauté until the onion is a little coloured.
Add rice and sauté for two minutes.
Now add the water and salt.
Cook with a tight lid on top for 20-25 minutes on low heat undisturbed.
